The Nutsy Fagan Diaries

A good day.

Why?  Well......for starters, I got my American Idol tickets to see the top ten at Nassau Coliseum this summer.  Way excited to see David Cook, Brook White, David Archuleta and Michael Johns.  I only wish Amanda Overmeyer was going to be there instead of Christie Lee.  But you can't have everything now, can you?

I went for my first weigh in and I lost 3 1/2 pounds!!!  WAY excited about that too.  Now I need to stay focused for this week.  One week at a time.  But I'm psyched for sure.

I finished planting and mulching the beds in the front of our house.  They look beautiful and I get tremendous satisfaction from them.  Every time I pull in the driveway I smile.  That's a nice thing.

Dinner is ready and my kids homework is done and they went to the movies with my buddy and her kids!  They won't be home until 9:30!!!  I have the next 2 hours and 15 minutes to myself.  Nice!

That's all.  I'm staring at my lush, green lawn and my double impatiens around my plum tree and all is well with the world.

Tomorrow, I finish planting and mulching the backyard.  I've also GOT to write/send thank you notes for Daughter's communion - I've been procrastinating on that one.  Don't know why, I'm usually pretty anal about getting them out immediately.  Oh well.  They'll go tomorrow.

Be good out there.

Nutsy, I take it you're taking the kids with you? It certainly is a hot ticket. Didn't realize you were a green thumb too. They say it shows sensitivity and romance in a person. I love plants and have about 30 in my home. Flowers are not my thing. Enjoy your spring work.

Definately taking the kids to Idol. Can't wait. As for gardening, one of my biggest passions. There's something holy about being one with the Earth and making it more beautiful.

Anytime you want to come to Missouri to mulch and weed, feel free. I hate that stuff and can't find the time anyway. If you show up, there will be beer involved.

Seriously, your photos look great and only make me realize, I've got work to do this weekend.

Cheers.

Off Topic.

Re: Lake Powell.

Check out "Arizona Highways" magazine on line: http://www.arizonahighways.com/. A subscription to the print version is about 20 bucks and they usually have a Lake Powell issue every year. Also, "Backpacker" magazine had a special Glen Canyon/Lake Powell edition within the last two years with a list of cool hikes which are now exposed due to low lake levels -- neat canyon hikes with Anasazi ruins and so forth. You can probably find at http://www.backpacker.com

Cheers.

Cool! Thanks for the great info on Lake Powell. After viewing your photos, I know I'm getting the goods!

Thanks for the compliment on my gardens. After I finish the flower garden in the backyard (probably not until next week now, since it's going to rain for the next 4 days....I will photograph that as well. It has a much bigger selection of flowers and is more free form.

As for gardening AND beer? If only Missouri were closer.....
