The Nutsy Fagan Diaries

Flip flop

posted Friday, 28 March 2008

It's been a crazy and busy week!  I'm catching up with all the odds and ends that fell to the wayside during vacations, Easter and illness.

Tonight, I'm having a Flip Flop Party!  How fun is that?!?!  No tupperware, jewely or vases.  Just fun flip flops, tote bags and a few other accessories.

Of course, I've been busy cooking/preparing because Nutsy never has people over without the food being exceptional and homemoade.  Here's the menu:

Crabmeat canapes, smoked salmon and herb butter canapes, stuffed mushrooms, hot spinach and artichoke dip, antipasto and herb coated goat cheese balls along with crackers.   Dessert is an apple tatin and chocolate covered pretzels.  I'm serving wine, soda and water.  I'm considering a pitcher of hazelnut espresso martinis....I think so!

That's all for now, lots of cleaning, etc.  I'll let you know how it goes and I'll photograph my groovy new flip flops for my next post.  Have a great weekend and be good out there.

It's considered bad form to post a menu which will be read when some of haven't had lunch, without posting the recipes -- especially the mushrooms and goat cheese ones.

Tsk, tsk.

:)

Cheers.

I'm wondering how goat cheese would go over here in Johnstown. . . .do they even sell it here? I could just drop the goat part and say it's cheese. Everyone loves cheese, right?

Come on, they've GOT to sell it. The goat cheese with herbs is really wonderful. Light but has a vibrant flavor.

That sounds amazing. There is not one single item on there that doesn't make me cry out "Oh! DELICIOUS!" I wish I could have been there, and I don't even wear flip-flops.
