The Nutsy Fagan Diaries

WTF?

Eliot Spitzer?  Does this EVER end?  Is there a politician ALIVE that can keep it in his pants?  Apparently not.  I look at the picture of him and his wife on CNN and I think this poor woman is standing there with him for her children's sake when what I'm sure she wants to do is take a Ginsu knife to his nuts.

I tried to change the color of my comments section so that my loyal fans could read them.  WHY does the SMALLEST of changes have to go and fuck up me blog?  Should it be this hard???  No.  It shouldn't.

We are on day 4 of flu.  Girly's ankles hurt now.  She's still pushing 102 on the thermometer.  She's still an amazing sport.  We are all exhausted.  At least we finally got some rx cough syrup and it knocked her out for 3 hours today.  She really needed to sleep.  Hopefully it works well again tonight?  Son was a puddle of tears this morning when I dropped him off.  Leaving all your presents and knowing your sister is staying home with Mommy is not fun.  Thank God World's Best Principal was there and took over for me.  "C'mon Son.  I've got to feed my hamsters.  Want to help?"  After 4 or 5 steps he said, "Auwight".  I called later and WBP told me he was fine by the time they got to the front door of the school.  Thank you God for small favors AND WBP.

Husband is in Chicago tonight.  Bummer.  I do not like it when he's gone.  I'll never get used to it.  Son will be sleeping with Mommy tonight.  Daughter would too if she was well.  Okay.  Daughter has requested my presence in her room to watch Barefoot Contessa.  Being the serious foodie I am, how could I possibly say no?!?!?  (NO she doesn't have a TV in her room all the time.  We put it there until she's better so that she doesn't contaminate the rest of the house.)  Be good out there.  And wash your hands.

Nope.

Power corrupts and the vast majority of these sewer trout believe that having a position of power entitles them to do whatever they want. Alas, we fall for their smiles every four years or so and believe the next guy/gal will be different.

Wrong.

Cheers.

You know, I wouldn't be so irritated by his actions if he hadn't already put himself in the public eye as a great moral authority and role model figure. Turns out he's just another balding moron with a boner and not enough brains to use a cell phone and private account to hire his hookers. Truthfully, I don't want an impotent president (cough, cough John McCain cough cough), I want a president who's virile and has something to live for.

With all hypocrisy aside, I have to point out that the sex was consensual and non-abusive. No children were involved. His sexual activities did not interfere with him carrying out the duties of his office. So, other than the hypocrisy, I see no need for him to resign. Of course, his wife might like to "resign" from their marraige, but that's a private matter between the two of them and not something for law enforcement to spend taxpayer time and money on.

When we have a sitting president who has condoned the torture and inhumane treatment of prisoners of war going his merry way with nary a slap on the wrist, I think it's entirely ludicrous for our government to be spending time hunting down those who have stepped off the monogamy bandwagon.

I agree completely on all your points Will. Even though it is a legal matter, I don't think it should be a legal matter that he went to a prostitute. What really bothers me is that he's lied to us. He has portrayed himself as a straight arrow and has heartily and aggressively prosecuted those who have committed the same crimes he has. He has let down the people who voted for him believing that he was someone he isn't. Lastly, I agree that the FBI should be hunting others, but this all ensued because of a law that tracks "suspicious" transfers of money over $5,000.00. They initially thought he was laundering money. I believe (or would like to believe) that they are trying to ulitmately fight organized crime. In any case, it just disgusts me. It's a classic case of Mr. Kettle calling the Pot black.
