The Nutsy Fagan Diaries

Project Runway, The Other Boleyn Girl and American Idol...

posted Thursday, 6 March 2008

Let me begin by saying Christian is FIERCE!!!!

I watched the finale this morning on DVR. The runway show was phenomenal. I thought all three designers really delivered, but there was really only one choice to be made for the winner and that was Christian. When they were about to deliver the decision and my little fierce boy's eyes filled with tears and his little lower lip was quivering??? Wonderful. Can't wait for next season! Also loved seeing Laura Bennett in the crowd. She's fabulous defined.

I saw The Other Boleyn Girl last week. I loved this book and read it in two days. I don't think it's a Pulitzer prize winner, but man it was a great read. Of course I had to see the movie no matter what the reviews were (mixed at best). I can't shed any new light on the reviews. The movie was indeed underwritten. Henry the VIIIth was given nothing to do but brood. You never got to see his playful side. There was a lot of ground to cover and a lot was skipped, but I think there could have been....MORE SEX?!?!? The book was really sex-ay and the movie.....eh...not so much. Natalie Portman doesn't play a flirt well. She's not sexy, she's beautiful. Period. She resembles a little girl still, so it didn't quite work for me. Anyway, I'm not sorry I saw it, it still entertained me, but it's not going to win any Oscars, except maybe for costumes, which were really beautiful.

Sister act

On to American Idol. Can someone please tell me what Paula Abdul is on? Is she drunk? Or on drugs? I can never understand a word she says. She's retarded. Last night was out of control. I felt sorry for the contestants because the judges really took away from them. It was let Paula go on and on and on night. Really annoying. If Luke Menard doesn't get sent home tonight (he's really a girl), I may stop watching. Also going home this evening are Kady Malloy, Chikezie (should be Danny Noriega) and Amanda Overmeyer (should be Kristy Lee Cook). JMHO....

I'm going to get a library card and get some of the books you mention. They all sound so good. Honey points out that I'll have the time soon. One more day. I might even watch a couple of these shows since I won't have to be in bed by 7. Since my escapades with the X, I have very little tolerance for drunken druggies and their antics. I did read in the paper that one of the Idol contestants, a male, used to give lap dances to men for money. I didn't care until they mentioned that two former contestants, who happened to be female, were removed from the show because of their former behaviors. Come on now, what's good for the goose . . . .

Christian deserved to win - he has vision and knows the form of a woman. I thought girly girl that was in the final had a good style too. Rami wasn't bad either. The Asian designer was eliminated too early because she was another with solid vision. But you can tell the Christian just has this stuff in his blood.

I agree that Victoria was eliminated too early. She is very talented, just really annoying!!! Sooooooo serious. Did you see the reunion show when Heidi Klum poked fun at her about it? Pretty funny.

I did see the reunion show and she is sensitive. Maybe it's part of her artistic and visionary make-up. ;]

I've been wondering about the Boleyn sister movie. It sounds like more of a period piece. I watched both of the Kate Blanchette Elizabeth movies a couple of weeks ago and kept listening to the Bloody Mary character refer to Anne as "that whore!" Of course, Anne got the last laugh.

Cheers.

I just can''t get into these kind of shows. I never was much of a tv watcher.
