Gosh, it's been soooo long since I've been here! Everything is fine. Just BUSY!!! I'm working on our Club's yearbook (and all the annoying shit and people that come along with that) and I'm also busy with PTA stuff as well. Throw in a 9 day Jamaican vacation and all of this now takes twice as long Mon. Irie. Here are some photos of our time in heaven:

Here's the gang out on the ocean trampoline. Husband's brother and family surprised us! We arrived on Saturday and Sunday afternoon, Daughter came back from tie dying with our cousins! It was a blast and a terrific surprise.

The slide! THE SLIDE!!!! This was really a blast. They had contests everday. I finally went in the adult contest on the last day and I would have won by a mile if a goddam last minute SPOILER did jump in on my parade. Watch out. I get vicious when a bottle of rum is the prize.

The view from our balcony looking west. At night the waves were under our building and it was all I could hear in bed. Wonderful.

Our view to the east. Gosh it was beautiful. I WANT TO GO BACK!!!

Our room was the top on the left in this building. Very rustic, Jamaican place. Just our style. I'd go back in a minute. You get a nanny when you arrive. She's with you from 9:00am until 4:40 each day. She takes time to clean your room and stock your fridge while she's not becoming a part of your family. All the nannies are darlings and wonderful with the kids. Ours took daughter tie dying every single day. I went a few times too....She wasn't impressed at all with my technique. The Jamaicans don't like any white left. Every time I showed her my finished product she'd tell me "you're getting better"...and sort of roll her eyes! We all liked her soooo much. She babysat at night 3 nights for us. She encouraged us to go on the tubing trip down the White River, which was GREAT. I finally said, "you want to go, don't you?" and she said, "YES!!!". I asked if I had to pay for her and I didn't so Daughter, Nanny and Nutsy went tubing. The river is amazing. Crystal clear and some rapids. Overhung with lush tropical trees and plants. It was a long bus ride there, but interesting. We went all the way past Ocho Rios. The Nannies had us singing the whole way there. They LOVE R&B, so we were jamming to Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks. They showed us what everything was along the way. Great time.
Later in the week, we went swimming in the Luminous Lagoon. You go into the Lagoon (a bay really) at night. The water is about 90 degrees and wonderful. When you splash, all the phosphorescence lights up. When you lift your arm out of the water it's as if lit up crystals are dripping from your arms. I loved it.
We have the best memories. I danced with the "Fire" guy. Oh yeah, I had the fire wand and put it down his throat.... I did the limbo! We just had a great time. Here we are in our tie-dyed best:

How about Daughter's corn rows? Awesome. We didn't have to brush it for two weeks. (It took Husband and I two hours to get it out....) We went down to the Bamboo Village (huts on the beach) and had the Ladies on beach braid their hair. We sat under a tree on the beach for a couple of hours while the men kept bringing us moms beer/rum punches and the kiddies popcorn. I got a beautiful carved crab from a guy there. I could have gotten some other "stuff" too, but I don't do that anymore. Too bad. It was everywhere!!
There were many tears at the hotel front door when we were getting on the bus to the airport. Saying goodbye to Nanny Tanika wasn't easy. She brought Daughter a Jamaican 4th grade textbook and we gave her a shirt from our Yacht Club. We traded addresses and emails. The kids sobbed all the way to Montego Bay airport. That pretty much says it all.
Wow, that looks like fun.
I want a nanny from 9 to 4 every day!
Wow! Nice pics, great shirts. Sounds like heaven. Good to have you back.
