The Nutsy Fagan Diaries

Been a long time....

posted Saturday, 5 July 2008

You KNOW Led Zeppelin is rattling through my brain..."been a long time, been a long time, been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely, lonely time!

Okay, things have been busy to say the least.  School has ended and I spent a good amount of time getting my house in order to begin the summer.  Clean clothes, clean floors, organized chaos, you know.  I've produced two newsletters for our yacht club, of which I am now Secretary!  I turned 47 and did a bit more than my share of partying for the last 3 days....WAY fun.  We went down to Forked River for three days and stayed on our new boat. Lots of fun, aside from the fact that Forked River (EVERYONE pronounces is Fork-Ed River) is forked HOT.  Holy smokes, I could not liver there.  It's really pretty, but it's Africa hot.  Anyhoo, the boat is really, really pretty:

NICE!!!!  Can't wait to get it home, which it should be next Sunday.  Husband and a Man Crew of 4 other guys will be sailing it home next Saturday.

Of course, the decorator/organizer in me kicks in and I'm planning what I'll do.  Cleaning first.  Then taking stock of all storage space available.  Our last boat was something like a floating attic (full of everything).  We're determined this will be simpler and more functional.  Anyway, it will be nice to get it in our backyard.

A boat in your yard? Now, I want to be your neighbor. Just think . . . .the cooking, the eating, the elongated birthday celebration, the painting and decorating. We'd probably be sick of each other in a week, or, your family would.

Your new boat looks alot like my dad's sailboat. Great little cruiser, comfortable and fun. I'm jealous but my next watercraft will likely be a kayak to explore the sloughs around here. Congrats on the birthday! And the 3 day party!

Sweet.

(If your husband ever needs any "rail meat," I can make myself available in exchange for a few brewskis. My experience is limited to an O'Day daysailer on Midwest lakes, but what the heck.

:)

Cheers, and a belated Happy Birthday!

Totally off-topic:

You mentioned some time ago about planning a vacation to Lake Powell. "Arizona Highways" Magazine, February 2008 is the "Lake Powell" issue, with plenty of tips, addresses and so forth. You might contact them for a back issue, arizonahighways.com

Cheers.

Well, now Zeppelin's rattling around in my brain too, which is no bad thing. Sounds like life is good, even if also busy.
