American Idol - Nutsy's take...

This is long overdue.  I'm a little surprised at myself not having posted about this yet.  If you're new to my Diaries, I am a HUGE fan of Idol.  Here goes.  But where do I begin?  Judges?  Or contestants?

Let's start with the judges.  This year brings Kara DioGuardi to the table.  And the WHOLE judging dynamic has changed.  Before, the three judges were like a wall of power.  They were IT.  And while Paula is and has always been the drunken, pill popping, village idiot, Randy and Simon's opinions carried a lot of weight.  Enter Kara.  Kara has big opinions and an arsenal of experience behind those opinions.  Randy doesn't seem so big or smart anymore, now does he?  Makes me kinda sad, cause I love all the old Randyisms.  Compared to Kara, Paula just seems more inept and insance than ever.  She let Simon draw a crayon mustach on her face.  The chick is nuts.  Simon is still king, for sure, but Kara is coming up quick.  Randy almost seems to sense this change and does not seem excited about this season, or anything.  On to the contestants.

THANK GOD MICHAEL SARVER WENT HOME.  There is happiness in the Fagan household.  Son and Daughter wanted him gone as much as Mommy.  Next has GOT to be Scott.  For crying out loud!  Are ya kidding me?  There is no serious talent here.  He can play the piano, I'll give you that, but his singing sucks.  Period.  He's going home next week.  NOW!  HOW IN THE HELL WAS MATT IN THE BOTTOM THREE?  Is America really that tone deaf?  Matt rocked the house and I honestly don't know how he ended up there.  I'll be sure to vote next week.  Count on it.  Megan should have been in the bottom three.  Lil is a disappointment.  She's artistically confused.  She's got that big old voice and just doesn't seem sure what to do with it.  Anoop?  Please.   Moving on. 

Here's what I'm talking about!  This is who I'm interested in:  1) Adam Lambert who is really just on the other end of the spectrum from the other contestants.  2) Kris is also amazing and I am a convert.  I initially didn't think much of him until last week when he sang To Make You Feel My Love.  It's on my Ipod already.  Beautiful.  Danny Gokey is great, but there's something about him that bothers me and I cannot put my finger on it.  Allison is awesome and a powerhouse.  She might be closest to Adam in talent.  Unfortunately, America won't keep her until the end because she's not pretty enough.  So sad, because the girl can blow.
