I'm coming to. Son and Daughter were both home a week ago Thursday. Son cleared the school nurse's inspection Friday. I worked on Daughter's head all day Friday, Saturday (took Sunday off) and Monday. When I say worked, I mean 6-8 hours a day of strand by strand hunting for nits. Tuesday morning, we fail inspection. Wednesday, we fail inspection. I'm crying now. I'm what I call "new baby" tired. The only time I have ever felt that tired was after delivering my children. Sheer, silly, emotional exhaustion. My sister in law came over and picked Daughters hair for two hours. Then I picked again for another 5 hours. Thursday, we fail again. Daughter's BFF's mother and I decide we are done. We called a company that is about a half hour away called The Fairy Lice Mothers. We have had it. We don't care what it costs, we NEED HELP. We went that evening and spent 4 hours there. After all was said and done Daughter and her BFF cleared on Friday. In hindsight, I should have gone straight to these ladies. So now, all the wash is finally done (thank you Husband), the house is almost back to normal and life is beginning to be as it should be. But wait Nutsy! How dare you think of good times ahead! Cut to set where two N'oreasters are brewing and headed up the east coast! We flooded on Saturday. Nothing in the house, but all the way up to the front door and back door. All through the garage. Enough to make us work our asses off all day emptying our playroom which is a step down from the rest of the house..... I was even okay with this until Husband and I see the weather report which was then calling for tides a foot higher for Saturday night and Sunday morning... Depression sets in. We were supposed to go to our neighbors for a dinner party. Now I have to cancel because I cannot ask a babysitter to bring her Wellies, park up the street and wade through a foot of saltwater to get to my house..... So I do cancel her and call the neighbors. Daughter and I decide to boogie and go to sleep at my mother's house. I call Husband around 8:30 and he and Son are at the neighbors eating dinner as the Big One ended up being a non event. I felt the need for meteoroligist blood at this point in time.
Regrouping. Sunday wasn't so bad. I spent most of the day catching Daughter up on her missed assignments/homework, etc. We're getting there, but I feel after these unfortunate events I may be getting superstitious?
Oh my God that's exhausting. I know that tired.
We've all been down this past week with upper respiratory crap.
Fortunately, no H1N1.
Thanks for stopping by Bridget, with three kids, you KNOW what tired is!!!
What a foul week! I do hope things have been better since.
Glad you're still around. I trust you survived Halloween and that all is
well with you and yours.
OH my! Very bad week! I hope things improve soon.
